The time has never been more urgent than it is right now for this industry to unite and preserve the solvency of vaping for all. Specifically, we must urge the United States Senate to include the Cole bill language as it appears in Section 747 of the House Agriculture Appropriations bill. Otherwise, the final bill would include a February 15, 2007 “grandfather date”, which would severely reduce the number of available products on the market, with Big Tobacco being a clear winner in this fight.
Should the final legislation include the grandfather clause, the Deeming Regulations would indelibly wreck havoc on our industry by putting greater than 99% of vapor companies out of business. In terms of being a job killer, an estimated 50,000 Americans would be unemployed as a consequence. Perhaps the most irrevocable harm that would result from the current Senate version of the bill would be the multibillion dollar black market such legislation would invariably create. Please review the following list of Senators on the committee, and if your state is being represented, call your Senator and urge them to include the Cole bill language.
