Generation V E-Cigarettes and Vape Bar opened doors to its first store in Lincoln, Nebraska in January 2014. When it comes to vaping, Generation V is home to some of the most knowledgeable and passionate people working in this industry. They know e-cigs and want to help their customers enjoy vaping safely.

Today, Generation V offers one of the largest selections of high-quality starter kits, batteries, tanks, e-liquids, mods, and accessories in multiple locations across Nebraska and Iowa. The shop is well known in today’s industry but comes from humble beginnings.

“It was kind of a fluke that I even got into this industry,” begins Sarah Linden, founder and mastermind behind Generation V E-Cigarettes and Vape Bar. “I had some friends who were looking for a partner to help them franchise vape shops to others and although that exact business venture didn’t work out, in the process I ended up with a store front. I have always been very passionate about this industry because I lost my grandmother to lung cancer. I got into this industry to save lives. It has been my mission from day one to help make lives better and show how important it can be to find an alternative for cigarettes,” she continues.

Since opening doors in 2014, Generation V has now expanded to seven total locations. Each location offers a modern 16-foot vape bar and an atmosphere that celebrates vaping.

“We love the bar atmosphere because it gives us the opportunity to get to know our guests and help them find exactly what they need. With our bar, there is obviously no alcohol, but we model ourselves after Cheers. We want to know our customers by name and remember their preferences, but we also care about their lives as well. At all of our locations, our teams take the time to learn a little history about each customer. Building relationships is a huge part of who we are, and it really helps us make perfect recommendations that are extremely personalized for our guests,” explains Sarah.

At Generation V, they know that vaping is something that should be savored and enjoyed safely. So, when it comes to e-liquid, Generation V puts in the time to make sure their products stand out and customers can be confident they are choosing the best.

“Obviously a big part of juice is the flavor profile, but when deciding what will make it to our shelves we take a close look at the branding and do our due diligence to make sure it’s a reputable company that we can trust. We are extremely particular and want to provide the best quality products for our customers and that is a big reason we have been so successful. In this area, premium juice was not always available. Almost every shop started out only making house juice, so when we chose to carry premium juice – that really put us on the map,” she adds.

The shop draws in all kinds of customers, some young but many older as well. The Generation V community is something truly unique. Customers come in for products, but they stay for the people.

“One of the things that I love about our shop is that some of our younger customers are bold and edgy looking, but they can sit down right next to 50-year-old women and engage in great conversation. I love that our space is a place where everyone is in this together and we are all helping each other find ways to leave smoking in the past. Here it doesn’t matter what you look like or what you do for a living, everyone is welcome and the community we have built is awesome. I am beyond grateful to be a part of it,” gushes Sarah.

Looking forward to the future, Sarah’s passion for the industry keeps her inspired, but with looming FDA regulations and changes – she’s rightfully nervous for what is to come.

“Depending on what happens in the next couple months all of our plans may have to change. Our original goal was to bring the experience that we have been able to create at our stores to vapers across the Midwest. We are really looking forward to doing that if we can. Right now, we are working on three new locations, but are stuck in a holding pattern until we know more,” admits Sarah.

Making it in this industry is not easy, but for Sarah her determination to help her customers find smoking alternatives has driven her to find a way to stay open and remain successful. Sarah is lucky to have a great team that supports her and is just as passionate about the industry as she is. Generation V is known for how friendly, professional, and knowledgeable their staff is and they are a main factor in the shop’s success. The story of how her team came to be what it is today all began with a Craigslist ad posted in the right place at the right time.

“When I first decided to open the shop, the way I found a team was not the ideal situation,” laughs Sarah. “I literally hired someone that I had never met off Craigslist and it ended up being the best possible person I could have ever found for the job. He then hired family members and friends who vaped as well and that is how our core team started,” she continues.

Today the hiring process is a little different at Generation V. They do not accept applications and do not advertise open positions; all spots are filled by customers of the shop.

“By hiring those we have helped in the past, we know their personalities because we have already established relationships with them. We know where they would fit, and we choose new team members very carefully. Our sole priority is to provide extraordinary guest service, so we want to make sure that the people we hire have a positive attitude, are outgoing, and can communicate well with our guests. This process allows us to find the perfect people to fill our open positions, it gives us a lot more information to base our decision off than just looking at a resume,” she explains.

The Nebraska vapor shop goes above and beyond for their guests and that is why it does not come as a surprise that this year Generation V E-Cigarettes & Vape Bar was voted Best of Omaha by the community they serve.
